Call (650) 566-0999
Some postoperative pain can be anticipated. Take as needed.
Moderate swelling immediately following periodontal surgery is not unusual. However, if it is severe or is accompanied by an increase in temperature or fever, please call the office.
A periodontal dressing or adhesive may have been placed to protect the surgical area. Do not be concerned if part or all of it comes off. If it becomes uncomfortable, please call the office.
Your next appointment will be for suture removal and evaluating the surgical area. PLEASE make every attempt to keep this appointment. It is very important that you be seen to be certain that your healing is progressing normally.
Don't Forget to Floss!
Clean between teeth daily with floss or an interdental cleaner. Decay-causing bacteria can hid between teeth where toothbrush bristles can't reach. Flossing helps remove plaque and food particles from between teeth and under the gum line.
Visit Our Office Regularly!
Take good care of your smile. Remember to visit the dentist regularly for professional cleanings and oral exams.
Mouthwash Is Important, Too!
Brushing and flossing may not be enough. The ADA now recommends using an antimicrobial mouthwash to reduce plaque and prevent gingivitis.
